Homemade mayonnaise/aioli in a blender is fast and easy. Add your own flavors to the easy blender mayonnaise like garlic or Dijon mustard. Edible Hawaiian Islands magazine inspired my friend Hilary from Healthy Maui Chef and I to make this blender mayonnaise/aioli-and we’re showing you just how easy it is to have your own homemade mayo.
Mayonnaise (or known as aioli) is a simple emulsion that creates a creamy sauce to pair with everything from sandwiches to veggies. You can add in your own herbs or spices like garlic or dijon mustard to customize it to your favorite tastes. It all comes together in a blender in just a few minutes, so there’s no whisking until your arm is sore for days!
This recipe is dairy-free and gluten-free, as usual.

HOMEMADE BLENDER MAYONNAISE/AIOLI RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 CUP OLIVE OIL
4 EGG YOLKS
1/2 TSP. DRIED MUSTARD POWDER
1/2 TSP. SALT (TO TASTE)
2 TBSP. FRESH LEMON JUICE
LEMON ZEST
METHOD:
- ADD TO BLENDER EGG YOLKS, LEMON ZEST (WE USED MEYER LEMON), MUSTARD POWDER, AND SALT.
- TURN BLENDER ON THE LOWEST SETTING TO YOU DON’T SCRAMBLE UP THE EGGS!
- SLOWLY DRIZZLE IN YOUR OIL LITTLE BIT AT A TIME SO IT INCORPORATES AND YOUR SAUCE DOESN’T SPLIT. GO LOW AND SLOW! YOU MAY NOT NEED ALL THE OIL AS IT GETS TO THE RIGHT THICKNESS.
- ONCE THE MIXTURE STARTS TO THICKEN, ADD THE LEMON JUICE. TASTE IT TO MAKE SURE IT HAS ENOUGH SALT!
